Kaya from Earning By The Sea has tagged me in a Blogger Q&A. I’ve recently realised I don’t share much about myself on my blog – it’s normally all about the kids! So hopefully this will help you get to know me a bit more.
When was the last time you cried?
Last weekend, whilst watching Dumbo with Ollie! I’m trying to introduce him to some of my favourite childhood Disney films before we head off to Orlando. I forgot how sad it is when Dumbo’s Mum gets taken away and locked up…gets me every time!
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I like to think so. I make a big effort to be there for my friends when they need me and I’m lucky to have some wonderful friends who always have my back too. I’ve been told a few times in the past I have a resting bitch face (the cheek!) but I really am friendly when you get to know me….honest.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
All the time. Where I come from sarcasm is just a part of normal conversation.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Whether they seem friendly or not. I can be quite shy until I get to know someone so someone who makes the effort to smile or introduce themselves first always stands out for me.
Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy endings. I’m a total baby when it comes to scary films. I can’t even watched the adverts without getting freaked out!
Coconut, lavender and coffee. Coconut always makes me think of summer holidays and being on a hot beach. Lavender I find really relaxing and helps me sleep. I’m trying to cut down how much coffee I drink but I love the smell.
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
Probably Jamaica. I went about 6 years ago and I’d love to go back. The people were so welcoming and friendly, the food was amazing and the weather was beautiful. I think my highlight was visiting Bob Marley’s house or swimming with dolphins which had been on my bucket list for a long time.
Do you have any special talents?
I’m double jointed so I can do some pretty weird things with my arms to freak people out at parties!
Where were you born?
What are your hobbies?
I love reading but I hardly ever find the time anymore. I’m currently learning to do my own gel nails in a bid to save money so practising that is my newest hobby. I’m also learning a new language which is pretty hard but I’m teaching it to Ollie and he’s better than me already!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I think it pretty much changed on a daily basis. The ones that lasted the longest were dancer or vet.
How many countries have you been to?
About 14 I think. I love to travel and I’m hoping we can take the kids to visit some interesting new places over the next few years. As a stay at home Mum money can be a bit tight so I’m currently working on some ways to travel for less.
What was your favourite/worst subject in school?
I loved English and languages. I HATED P.E. with a passion!
What is your favourite drink?
Pepsi Max, but I’m worried I might have a bit of a problem. Seriously I get cravings if I don’t drink it! Alcohol wise I love gin and red wine.
What would you (or have you) name your children?
My son is named Oliver but pretty much always known as Ollie. Strangely it was a name that had never even crossed my mind until I was about 6 months pregnant, then it just seemed like it was the one and that was it.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
I might be a total outcast for saying this but I just don’t really do YouTube. I listen to music on there and that’s about it!
How many boyfriends have you had?
Favourite memory from childhood?
My first family holiday abroad to Gran Canaria when I was 7. It was the first time I’d been abroad (apart from at 6 months old but I don’t think that counts) and it was so exciting! I went with my Mum, sisters, Auntie and Grandparents and the whole holiday was just amazing. I don’t think we did anything out of the ordinary but just being in another country was a novelty, and our hotel had loads of kids activities which I loved.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
Non existent? Fashion is really not my thing, I just pick things I like but they don’t necessarily go well together. I pretty much live in joggers and a t-shirt when I’m home in the day with Ollie. If we’re out and about, it’s a dress, leggings and Uggs or flip-flops depending on the weather! I like to be comfy and not spend too much time in the morning getting ready.
Tell us one of your bad habits!
I’m really bad at replying to texts and messages. My friends have pretty much accepted that it can take me up to 3 days to reply to a text. I read them, then just get distracted and forget to reply!
