I know a lot of people choose January to get organised and take control of their finances, and it makes sense after Christmas.
I find the best way to get started is to sit down and think about all things I want to achieve and set myself goals to help me get there.
This year, most of my goals are based around money and family. Setting myself targets will give me something to aim for, and help me stay on track and see how well I’m doing throughout the year.
I want to pay off the little bit of credit card debt I have left and keep saving money to start a rainy day fund. I’ve set out a budget based on our income and outgoings, and set a direct debit up to pay the rest off my card. This year I’m going to be looking for new, weird and wonderful ways to make extra cash and I’ll be sharing my experiences on here!
Our biggest goal this year is to buy our first house. We’ve been saving like crazy for our deposit so if all goes well we’ll have our own home by the end of the year!
I really want to start focussing on my blog and building both my followers and content. I’m passionate about money saving so I want to help others do the same!
Quality Family Time
As a family we made some great memories in 2016. This year I want to do the same, starting with taking the kids to London. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled all year for opportunities to visit new places and try new activities without breaking the bank!
I also want to make the most of my daytimes with my little boy. I’ve been finding inspiration for free activities on Pinterest so hopefully we will be doing lots of new fun stuff this month!
Whatever your goals are, make sure they’re realistic, and set yourself a time frame for achieving them. Good luck!
